Hung Curd Sandwich / Dahi Sandwich



Ingredients


Yogurt / Dahi                             ; 1/2 cup
Sandwich Bread slices               : 2
BoiledSweet corn                       : 1/4 cup
Grated carrot                               : 1/4 cup
Chilli flakes                                : 1/4 tsp
Salt                                             : as required

Method

Pour the yogurt in a muslin cloth , tie the edges and hang it over the kitchen sink for 3 hours.
In a bowl , add sweet corn , grated carrot , red chilly flakes, salt and mix well.
Add hung curd to it and mix.
Cut the corner sides of the bread , cut half , apply a layer of the mixture on bread , cover with another slice of bread and press gently.

Iyengar Bakery Style Sandwich / Masala bread toast / Open masala sandwich



Ingredients

Sandwich bread         : 4 nos
Grated carrot              : 1/2 cup ( 2 small carrots )
Chopped onion           : 2 tbsps ( 1 big)
Chopped tomato         : 2 tbsps ( 1 big )
Red chilly powder      : 1/2 tsp
Green chilly                : 1 
Tomato sauce              ; 1 tsp
Salt
Coriander leaves 
Mustard seeds 
Oil


Method

Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan, add 1/4 tsp mustard seeds and wait till they crack.
Add chopped onion,green chily and fry till the onion turn pink.
Add chopped tomatoes and fry.
Add the grated carrot,salt , red chilly powder  and mix.
Cook in a low flame for 5 minutes, add tomato sauce ,mix well and switch off the flame.
Add coriander leaves and mix.
Heat a tawa , toast the bread with little butter  on both sides, 
Spread 2 tbsps of filling on top of the bread. 
Serve hot.



Green peas & Paneer Sandwich




Ingredients 

Bread slices         : 10 
Chopped onion    : 2 tbsps
Green peas ( boiled)   : 1/4 cup 
Grated paneer      : 2 tbsps 
Tomato sauce      : 1 tbsp
Red chilly powder  : 1/2 tsp 
Salt
Coriander leaves 
Oil  
Butter 



Method


Heat the oil, add onion,green peas,salt and fry.
Add grated paneer ,red chilly powder and mix.
Add tomato sauce and cookfor few minutes.
Finally add coriander leaves and remove from fire.
Apply butter to one side of a bread, place 2 tbsps of peas mixture and cover it with another bread.
Toast it in a sandwich maker or in a tawa.
Cut into two and Serve with tomato sauce.

Peanut Butter & Banana & Jam Sandwich



Ingredients 

Multi Grain Bread        : 8 slices
Peanut Butter               : 1 cup
Unsalted Butter            : 2 tbsps
Mixed fruit Jam            : 2 tbsps
Ripe bananas sliced      : 1 cup

Method 

Mix plain butter & Peanut butter.
Spread 4 bread slices with butter mixture and top with Banana slices.
Spread the remaining slices with mixed fruit jam and cover them on top of the bananas.
Press them gently.
Place each sandwich on a tawa and toast both sides for few minutes and serve immediately.




Finger Sandwich

Ingredients

Wheat bread   : 4 slices
Chopped onion  : 1/2 cup
Chopped tomato  : 1/4 cup
Grated carrot        : 1/4 cup
Chopped capsicum : 1/4 cup
Chopped garlic     : 1 tsp
Chilly flakes          : 1 tsp
Grated cheese       : 2 tbsps
Coriander leaves    : 1 tbsp
Basil                      : 1 tsp
Salt

Method

Cut the bread slices into two pieces.
Combine chopped onion, tomato, grated carrot,capsicum , garlic ,chilly flakes,coriander leaves ,salt,crushed basil and mix well.
Spread mixture over the bread slice ,sprinkle grated cheese on it, toast it in the preheated oven till the cheese melts - just a couple of minutes.
Take it out and serve hot with tomato sauce.

Mixed veg Sandwich with white Sauce

Ingredients

Wheat bread slices   : 10
Chopped onion        : 1/2 cup
Chopped vegetables : 1 cup ( carrot,cauli flower,Green peas,beans,capsicum)
Chopped garlic        : 2 tbsps
Pepper powder        : 2 tbsps
Butter                      : 1 tbsp
Maida                      : 1 tbsp
Milk                         : 1 cup
Grated cheese           : 2 tbsps
Coriander leaves       : 1/4 cup

Method

Steam cook the vegetables and keep aside.
Heat 1 tbsp butter in a pan, add chopped garlic and fry.
Put chopped onion and stir.
Add 1 tbsp maida, fry lightly and then slowly add milk and stir till it becomes thick.
Add steamed vegetables and mix well.
Put salt and pepper powder now and mix well.
Finally add grated cheese,coriander leaves and keep aside.
Apply this mixture between two bread slices and press gently.
Toast it in a tawa or in toaster & serve hot with tomato sauce.

Multi coloured Bread Sandwich/Toast

Ingredients

Wheat Bread slices : 7
Mixed fruit jam  : 2 tbsps
Mint leaves        : 1/2 cup
Coriander leaves : 1/2 cup
Green chillies      : 3
Lemon juice        : 1 tsp
Grated carrot      : 1/2 cup
Grated paneer     : 1/2 cup
Grated cheese     : 1/2 cup
Grated cucumber : 1/2 cup
Salt
Pepper powder
Butter

Green chutney

Grind mint leaves, coriander leaves ,green chillies and salt. Mix lemon juice with it and keep aside.


Method

Toast the bread slices on tawa or a toaster with little butter.
Mix grated carrot, grated cucumber, grated cheese , greated paneer and add salt and pepper to it. mix well and keep aside.
There are 7 bread slices to be used in one toast/sandwich
Put one bread slice on a plate, spread a layer of jam, cover it with second bread slice spread green chutney on it, cover it with 3rd bread slice put vegetable mixture , again cover it with spreaded jam bread, next spreaded chutney bread, and again with vegetable mixture on another bread and finally cover the whole slices with butter spreaded bread slice.
Press gently, cut into desired shape and serve with tomato sauce.

Paneer Sandwich





Ingredients

Paneer          : 100gms ( cubed)
Bread slices  : 10
Onions         :1
Capsicum     : 1
Tomato sauce  : 2tbsp
Pepper powder : 1tsp
Butter               : 2 tbsp
Salt
OIL

Method

Put oil in a pan and fry chopped onions , chopped capsicum and panner.
Add salt and pepper to it.
Now add tomato sauce and mix well.
Keep aside.
Apply butter to one side of a bread and place  2 spoons of paneer mixture and cover it with another bread.
Toast it in a sandwich maker.
Serve hot.
