Pillayarpatti Mothagam / Pillayarpatti Kozhukattai / Pillayarpatti Modakam / பிள்ளையார்பட்டி மோதகம்



Ingredients

Raw Rice                   - 1 cup
Moong Dal                - 1/4 cup
Jaggery                      - 1 1/4 cup
Water                         - 2  cups
Coconut                    - 1/4 cup
Ghee                         - 1 tbsp
Cardamom               - 4 

Method

Roast rice and moong dal separately




Add cardamom and let it cool.


Put in a blender , 


powder it coarsely.



Take jaggery and water in a pan . let it boil



Strain the jaggery to remove any impurities

Bring it to a boil 


add the rice mix , 


add in grated coconut,

add ghee and mix everything well. keep stiring till it gets thick. Remove from flame and let it cool.


Take little portion , roll it into a ball shape.


Arrange the balls on a greased idli plate and steam cook for 15 minutes.




Delicious Pillayarpatti kozhakattais are ready now.

Baby corn Manchurian dry recipe



Ingredients

Babycorn                : 10 nos
Maida                     : 3tbsps
Corn flour               : 3 tbsps
Spring onion           : 1/2 bunch
Tomato sauce         : 1 tsp
Chilly sauce           : 1 tsp
Soya sauce               : 1 tsp 
Chopped garlic         : 1 1/2 tbsp
Green chilly              : 2 nos
Capsicum                  : 1
Oil

Method


Make a batter with maida,corn flour, salt using little water and dip the chopped baby corn one by one ,deep fry and keep aside.



Heat 2 tbsp oil in a frying pan , add chopped garlic and fry. 




Add chopped green chilly, white part of the spring onion and fry.



Add soya sauce, 

Chilly sauce, 


Tomato sauce,



Salt and mix everything well.


 Now add chopped capsicum , 


fried baby corn,

chopped spring onion , mix and fry in high flame for few minutes and remove from fire.


Serve hot & Enjoy..








Tomato & Garlic Pasta



Ingredients

Pasta              : 1 cup
Chopped onion   : 1/4 cup
Chopped tomato  : 1/4 cup
Tomato puree      ; 2 tbsps
Chooped garlic    : 1 1/2 tbsps
Roughly Chopped Basil leaves  : 1 tsp 
Chilly sauce                 : 1tsp
Mixed herbs                 : 3/4 tsp
Salt
Olive oil                      : 1 1/2 tbsps + 1/4 tsp 


Method


Boil pasta in enough water  with little salt.








Drain and add 1/4 tsp olive oil to the pasta to keep it  from sticking.



Heat olive oil in a non stick pan,


Add the chopped garlic and fry well .



Add chopped onion, fry till it turns golden brown.



Add chopped tomato, 




salt and mix. 



Add mixed herbs,



Chilly  sauce, 


Tomato puree,

Roughly chopped basil leaves,


Cooked pasta and mix everything well.


Stir well and cook on  low flame for few minutes.



Serve hot with Grated parmesan cheese.






Raw mango Sambar / மாங்காய் சாம்பார்



Ingredients

Raw mango             : 1 
Toor dal                   : 3/4 cup
Small onion             : 10 nos
Tomato                    : 2 big size
Sambar powder       : 2 tsp
Mustard seeds          : 1/2 tsp
Fenugreek seeds      : 1/4 tsp
Curry leaves
Salt
Oil

Method

Pressure cook the toor dal with water and turmeric powder for 3 to 4 whistles and keep aside.



Heat 1 tbsp oil in a kadai,add mustard seeds ,Fenugreek seeds,small onion and fry 



Add the chopped tomatoes and stir.


Add turmeric powder,

Asafoetida.

1cup water, Sambar powder,


Salt and let it boil.

Wash and chop the mango into pieces and add it to the boiling sambar.


Let it boil till the mango gets cooked.


Add the cooked dal and mix well.


Bring to boil for few minutes and switch off the flame.
